Lydia Cottrell, Artist, Dancer, Performer, Choreographer.  Biography CV

Dancer, Performer, Artist, Cosmonaut, Prepper, Apocaloptimist.

Lydia creates bold and brave multi-disciplinary performance that challenges institutional status quo and presents new ideas and questions to audiences in engaging and interesting ways. Her practice is informed by a background in dance, live art and performance. Her work is also largely autobiographical, drawing on personal experiences and finding ways in which these experiences relate to that of others.

Lydia is compelled to make brutally honest work that questions the endurance of the body in performance and differing contexts. This has led her to create work that provides a social commentary and contains elements from altered disciplines.

Alongside her own practice, Lydia works as one half of 70/30 Split, who were listed in the top 5 most exciting dance moments of 2014 in The Guardian.
